The musicians of Cancionero invite you to

make your special day an historic one.

 

When you have chosen the venue for your special day
why not match the music to the setting?

We tailor the music to your requirements.
Any potential clients are invited to meet us in person
to hear our instruments live and choose the music
they would like to enhance their day.

 

Lute and recorder make beautiful background music.

We also use a medieval harp and a lyre.

 

 

The hurdy gurdy is splendid for dancing.

In duet with Bagpipes it's phenomenal!

 

Our basic wedding package (£280 in our local area) includes 2 performers in costume for 2 hours. This can include playing music during the ceremony followed by a drinks reception (often while photographs are being taken). Alternatively with a church wedding we can play during drinks and the wedding breakfast.

 

We can provide a larger ensemble to play music for the evening entertainment. This can include leading the guests in historic dances - a cross between line dance and barn dance! It's a fun activity for all ages and no previous experience is needed!

Our instruments are intended for indoor performance. Most of them are not loud enough for open spaces and all of them would be ruined if exposed to moisture. If there is an adequate wet-weather alternative we would consider playing in an enclosed courtyard or walled garden as long as a gazebo is provided to give shade; the instruments need protecting from direct sunshine.

We also need a room for changing into costume and a safe place to store our clothes and instrument cases.
